Networking is all – as I have already said bajillion of times already, and in the spirit of that – I would like to invite you to How.Camp. It is one of the biggest summits of the Bulgarian IT society, organized by Bogomil ‘Bogo’ Shopov, true pioneer in the world of open source and prominent pirate.
The last technical day at the IoTSC2014 was covering topics in the CONSUME area or either said – collecting and parsing sensor data. It was a very exciting day, also including a socially oriented event for dinner.
As we have steadily drilled into the Internet of Things, namely in the technologies behind it, we seamlessly entered the third day of IoTSC2014. Dubbed COLLECT, this day was only about ways of getting data back and forth, especially in constrained networks.
We entered seamlessly the second day of IoTSC2014, after being warmed up well the day before. The second day was dubbed CONNECT and, as you can imagine, we had lectures and hands on what is most fundamental in IoT – connecting them devices and ensuring their networking capabilities.
I needed couple of days to get some rest, thus my absence. What I have been resting from was the very intensive past week, during which I have attended a truly scientific summit, called Internet of Things and Smart Cities Ph.D. School 2014 or simply #iotsc2014.
As the things in the IoT ecosystem develop further, there is already a high demand for ensuring their connectivity and operation from networking point of view. 4G networks are already choking on all the data our present devices generate, so here is where 5G will kick in as Prof. Roberto Verdone explained earlier today at the […]
Frank Van Steenwinkel, the founder of Fidecity gave us a great overview on what it takes for a place to adopt the IoT goodies and call itself a smart city. Things are far more complicated than you think and technologies here come last.
The opening keynote at the #iotsc2014 today was presented by Prof. Carsten Bormann from the University of Bremen, Germany and IETF. It was kinda lengthy, however interesting – so interesting, that we never noticed how the time flew. He presented challenges in IoT nowadays.
Unfortunately, all the good things come to an end and so are the #senzations. This wonderful event, full of excellent talks, stunning workshops and a lot of fun has reached its final. At the end, all of us, divided into teams presented their projects.
Today I have decided to see what is going on the business track and, well, this is a decision that I will most probably never regret. SenZations, as it turns out, is an event, where you can learn not only technical stuff, but a lot of business one.
